I am a Pre-AP, GT, English teacher and Writing Coach at Shallowater Middle School. In my career, I have experience working with gifted/talented as well as Pre-AP/AP, and full-inclusion students in the West Texas area. I have written curriculum for grades seven through twelve for a variety of ELAR, GT, and Advanced Placement programs and purposes. I have presented for numerous conferences, districts, and Advanced Placement Summer Institutes at various universities and national conferences while working as a consultant for the College Board and teaching middle school students. I have completed a Master’s degree in Education Administration and hold a Principal’s certificate. I am also the recipient of the Frank and Nancy Newton’s Excellence in Education Award from the Beaumont Foundation in 2010 and the Panhandle/South Plains TAGT Teacher of the Year for 2014. Most recently, I have published multiple books on writing instruction, strategies/activities, and novel-based DBQs with Teacher’s Discovery. To put it simply, I love to teach and be of service to both students and teachers when given the opportunity.
